HELTER SKELTER

HELTER SKELTER 2020

The woods were dark, and a little scary. They told me I would find an answer here. I didn’t believe them. But, I wanted to know the truth.

I hiked under the moonlight, through moist moss and towering tree canopies. But, not a sound could be heard, not a bird, not an insect, not a wisp of wind.

After hours of searching I saw a glowing light. I kept making for it, seeing a halo of pale blue.

Though I feared the words she was going to say, I had to know. I walked up to her slowly. She sat in peace, in stillness. I saw no shade to her skin, nor color to her eye.

“I was told you know the answers, “I whispered, chills running down my spine, “How do you know the truth?”

“I know because I am a seer,” she said.

“Tell me what you see,” I asked, crouching before her. The heat coming from her misty aura warmed my skin.

After a moment her eye narrowed and her voice was like the whistling of a breeze through harp strings.

“I see the men at the top. They are ordering the peace officers to kill men of color. I see their symbols of hate, I hear their toxic rhetoric. These aren’t the peace officers we used to know. These are infiltrators. These are the extreme fringe. They wear their racism in pride. They don’t care who knows. They murder black men in cold blood to incite. They have become the infantry, the foot soldiers. These rogue officers want the footage of their deeds to go viral. Then the reaction will be brutal. The people of color and their allies will rally with peaceful protests.”

Shivers came to my spine as the fog that was once over my eyes began to lift.

“Next, the peaceful protests are raided by outsiders. They create the violence, the destruction. This provides the news footage to the right-wing voice. The extremist voices thrive on the chaos. They then justify the new army of border patrol, known for being close to the man at the top. These men quell the protest in the name of peace and justice. They feed the right-wing voices with proof to their viewers that the left side of the country is creating riots and should be scorned.”

“Why is this happening?” I ask, growing sick and angry.

She replies, “It has nothing to do with their political party. It has to do with money. Greed. The men at the top want it. They want so much money, more than any human being can ever need or use. Then, they can do as they wish. Once they take absolute power, democracy will be over, and these few at the top can pollute the environment, exploit workers, not pay taxes, kill with impunity, take over the press, murder rare wildlife as trophies and remove healthcare so the ones they rule are weak, sick, and poor.”

“Is this why I should vote?”

She vanished before my eyes.

An interview with Jack Charles Larsen.

An interview with Jack Charles Larsen.
I’m sitting down with attorney extraordinaire, Jack Larsen. We’re inside his Malibu beach house, and may I say…wow!
Mr Larsen is wearing beige shorts and a white polo shirt, looking handsome and big! Very well built!

Me: Hi, Jack. Thanks for allowing me to stop by and talk to you.

Jack: No problem.

Me: Well! Needless to say you’re a fan favorite. I think they like your stability in a very unstable group of men.

Jack: (chuckles) Yeah, that’s me. Mr Stable.

Me: (reads from my notes) Right! Most of your fans know all about your career, doing pro bono work, helping the community, but tell us more about what you enjoy most?

Jack: (crosses legs) Uh…well, I’m trying to get away from family law and more into civil liberties. The pay may be a little less, but my conscience is clearer.

Me: I get that. Okay, onto Mark.

Jack: (chuckles again but appears uncomfortable) Yes. Mark. The model who can’t seem to get out of his own way.

Me: Come on. You love him. We know you’d be lost without him.

Jack: Yes. I would be. Mark and I are as close as brothers. Maybe closer.

Me: Have you and Adam managed to get over the anger from Mark divorcing Steve?

Jack: Yes. Look, Steve isn’t the baby kind. I get why Mark needed Stan. Adam? Well, he’s harder to please than I am. But, Adam is coming around a little more.

Me: Adam Lewis. He’s another fan fav. They love their talent agent.

Jack: (smiles) What’s not to love? He’s an amazing man. I’m very lucky.

Me: Any long range plans for you? Anything coming up on the horizon?

Jack: Ya know? Just trying to keep sane in Mark’s world is tough enough. But, I have to admit I enjoy the estate. Adam and I discuss possibly moving north to Paradise and living there.

Me: Blake Hughes, the fireman, has already taken the leap north. It looks like he may stay on as Isaac’s nanny.

Jack: Yes. He loves that kid. With his bad back, and Sierra’s cooking, I can’t blame him. Hunter is also considering the move north.

Me: Do you like your nicknames? Jackie-blue and He-man?

Jack: (laughs) Sure. I don’t mind.

Me: You’re so damn easy going.

Jack: I try to be. Life’s too messy to add to the chaos.

Me: How do you feel about this whole Sharon Tice-Hill fiasco?

Jack: (a look of consternation appears) (Jack rubs his face, as if I have hit a sore spot.) She’s asking for trouble. I have no idea why she thought seducing Mark in a church was a good idea.

Me: It must have been. He made love to her. Mark doesn’t screw around much anymore.

Jack: That…I do know. He won’t make love to me or Adam. Or Steve, for that matter.

Me: Loyalty’s a good thing, right? So? About Sharon?

Jack: I guess I keep hoping the baby isn’t Mark’s. I know Mark wants a son from her. It was the reason he proposed to her in the first place. But, if this kid is his? The mess is going to create a lot of anger.

Me: Like catching fire?

Jack: (his eyebrows become expressive at my intended pun) Yes, Ms Hauser. Like that.

Me: Any last word to the fans that adore their He-man and his hubby Adam?

Jack: Keep reading. The calm you are feeling at the moment is before the storm.

Me: Yes. They’ve been floating on a Paradise high lately. After the big divorce they were very angry.

Jack: Marriages fail. It’s not that unusual. In my opinion? Steve’s happier now than he’s been in a long time, even though his helicopter pad is on permanent hold. (Jack grins and then laughs)

Me: I think Steve’s in a better place too, with Tadzio. Thanks, Jack, for taking the time to sit down with me for a few minutes.

Jack: No problem. I enjoyed it. Special thanks to the fans and readers of the series. Having over 40 novels in this series is daunting. Kudos for those loyal enough to hang in there.

Me: Loyalty. Maybe that’s why Mark calls you Jackie-blue, because you’re true.

Jack: (stares at me with his blue eyes) You’re a dork.

Me: Been called worse. Thanks again.

And that wraps up my interview with Jack Larsen!

Writing a series; Ten years in the making.

FICTION/ROMANCE/GAY/EROTICA

Writing a series; Ten years in the making.

The first novel I ever wrote, back in 1990, had three main characters in it, Jack Larsen, Sharon Tice, and Mark Antonious Richfield. This was before I was able to publish my work, and before I even considered publishing it.
This first attempt at a novel was a massive thousand page creation that was never going to see the light of day. But back then, I did find these characters interesting. The first version of this novel was a love triangle between the three main players.

Later on in my career, the same three characters showed up in my published work; Mark & Sharon and Capital Games. Acting Naughty, which is the first Action! Series book, didn’t have Mark or the other two in it. But, Mark quickly made his way into the story by the second book, Playing Dirty.

Still, it wasn’t a ‘series’. Maybe it was one follow-up novel? The thought of documenting the sex-ploits of a group of people for a decade never occurred to me. I tried to ‘wrap up’ an ending several times with them.
In my mind, I figured, okay, this will be the last. But, between my own desires and my fans’ emails to keep it going, I did.

I found between writing single titles, I came back to Mark, Jack, and Sharon, adding of course other familiar actors from my world, Steve, Adam, Billy…names well known to my Action! Series fans.
When I thought of making a full length feature film, once more, it had to be Capital Games. Had to be when Mark and Steve met. So, Capital Games has now become a pilot episode for the series. So, an easy way for fans who have not read the series, they can watch the film and dive in right after seeing it. (Capital Games is available on Amazon Prime, Vimeo, and many other platforms)

https://www.amazon.com/Capital-Gregor-Cosgrove-Keough-Presnall/dp/B00GSA3K6C#
The series.
Now over forty books, with five or more satellite stories. For new fans it’s daunting. How on earth does someone dive into a series like this? I created three box sets to help; books 1-10 are discounted, as well as the prequels to help new readers out.

Many authors write series books. They find fan favorites and either continue their tale or do spinoffs. It’s not that unique.
What I am finding is unique, is the length of the tale. This isn’t a series about a detective who solves a different crime in each novel. This is one story. One continuous story told through a decade of their, and my, life. I find when I am in a good space, so are they. When I falter, they fail with me.
I used to come back to this series between single titles, because the characters write their own story. They are so fleshed out, I know everything about each unique man; Mark, the gorgeous model who can’t get out of his own way. Steve, the former cop, who is the steadfast pillar Mark clings to. Alexander, Mark’s son, who is impossible to deal with…on and on.
This story has covered ten years of these men’s lives. A decade of their foibles and fantasies.

With each new episode, which I write like a TV show, with cliffhangers and intrigue, I find I am not at a loss for words, but the opposite. The way these books are setup, is scenes for a TV show. Although this is not written in script form, it is written cinematically. Each chapter switches to a different sub-storyline, creating a TV show feel. The books are consistent that way, and the tale of each character is simple to follow. I also have enough background information in each episode, that you can get a ‘previously on’ the show sort of feel. There’s no way you won’t figure it out in one chapter. Keeping the balance between giving new readers information and not boring seasoned vets is a tight line, but I hope I am walking it.
It’s truly a tale I feel I am simply documenting.
An example of this? In one of the most recent novels, I fully expected the character to give birth to a girl. A daughter. I even went so far as to name the book Finding Hope, Hope, being the baby’s name.
But, as I wrote it, I had created a boy baby. All the foreshadowing in dreams of a daughter, didn’t happen. I am at a loss as to why. It was there in the ether. But, my characters had other plans. They want what they want.

I know. A little scary? Like Frankenstein creating the creator.
I can only do as they like, since if I try to deviate from their story, they certainly steer me back to their direction.

Forty books, one continuous saga. I only know of soap operas that are similarly plotted. I know of no other author who has done this, although I am sure there are some. When will this end? How will this end?
My guess is, it won’t. Not as long as I’m in love with the series. Perhaps it’s not as popular as some of my other single titles, maybe not sitting in the number one spot for long, but, I don’t mind. I am thrilled for the fans that have kept up with me. Like I have said, this isn’t a book series any longer, it’s a TV series, one that has become beloved by the faithful few. They feel as if these men are family members. Well? They have known them for ten years, so I believe that too.

For as long as I can, I will continue this path. How many books can a series have? I guess I’m going to find out.
So far, forty-four (with three still to be published) written and counting.

Happy reading!

G.A. has penned over 180 novels and short stories. She is the executive producer for her first feature film, CAPITAL GAMES and is the director and executive producer for her second film NAKED DRAGON.

My interview with Mark Antonious Richfield

My interview with Mark Antonious Richfield

Today I am in a very special place on the planet. I’m in Paradise, California at Mark’s family estate. Mark and I are sitting outside by the pool, which is Olympic sized, by the way. From my cushioned seat on the breezy patio, I have a wonderful view of the recently remodeled stable and two horses grazing in an enclosed paddock. Beyond that amazing sight is the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. Everything I’ve ever heard about this place is true. It’s a palace, one with two pools, one inside, one out, tennis courts, a basketball court, thirteen rooms, all recently renovated by the previous owners, Ewan Gallagher and Jason Phillips, who have returned to England.
Mark, wearing summer white, looks as if he just stepped off of the page of his cologne advertisement. He’s wearing white slacks, a white short-sleeved sheer top, and bare feet. A gold chai charm is visible around his neck.
Me: Hi, Mark.
Mark: (smiling) Hullo, Ms Hauser,
Me: Where do I begin? This summer you and your friends have had a crazy few months. How are you?
Mark: (runs his hand over his thick brown hair) It’s been quite the trip. A lot of life changes.
Me: I’ll say. Divorcing Steve, marrying Stan…
Mark: (makes a soft sound)
Me: (leaning closer) Did I hit a sore topic?
Mark: Not for me, love, no.
Me: Do you realize there are sides being taken and lines being drawn?
Mark: I’ve been too busy to catch my breath. Between the new company and the upheaval, things have been hectic, but it is slowly calming down.
Me: (lost in his green eyes for a moment) How is Alex doing?
Mark: Better. He’s a busy boy, just finishing a film, ‘Lover Boy’, and attending another premiere for ‘Snapped’. I’m very proud of him.
Me: Okay. (I take a deep breath) How’s Stan?
Mark: (a big smile appears on the top model’s face) He’s spectacular.
Me: You look very happy.
Mark: I am. Happier than I have ever been in my life.
Me: How’s Steve handling all this change?
Mark: (gazes out at the horses) Steven is doing very well. He’s married to a lovely man. Tadzio Andresen. Tadzio has become an invaluable member of our family. That sweetheart is full of surprises.
Me: What do you say to the fans who refuse to accept Stan?
Mark: (pauses for thought) I think it’s their loss, my love. You see, Stan is my future, make no mistake. The love I feel for him is quite strong. I trust him as the father of our children, and the man who will help me not only succeed in Steven and my new corporation but, he has the heart of a lion. My new husband has so much love and intelligence I see him going far in his work as an actor, and whatever he chooses to do.
Me: (listening intently) You realize your love for Stan is angering some of your fans.
Mark: (sighing) Oh, my pet. I have not spent the last four plus decades pandering to others. I need to find my own way, love whom I choose. I do find it ironic those who accept two men as partners are rejecting the lover I have chosen.
Me: (lost on Mark’s beauty- yes, it’s hard to focus on his words) (I get it, Steve)
Mark: The heart wants what it wants. I’ve spent too much time unhappy, suicidal, starving…enough. I intend on working towards a bright future. If the fact that I am content is upsetting people, is it really my issue, or, my pet, is it theirs?
Me: You had me at hullo.
Mark: (laughs) I do adore you.
Me: You’d better I’m your biggest fan! Thanks for the time, Mark, I know how busy you are. (I look out at the horses grazing) I love this place. Can I live here too?
Mark: Naughty. (his smile is so sexy)
Me: Okay. To your all of fans, the last Action! summer release ‘Living in Paradise’ is due out the first weekend of August. So, make sure you all catch up!
Mark: Thank you, love, for having an open mind and heart, and showing the world, love is indeed, love.
Me: (standing and walking closer) Thanks.
Mark: (stands and opens his arms)
Me: (rushing to his embrace) God, you smell good.
Mark: Behave.
Me: Never.
