Pirate sites have long been the bane of any writer's existence, but the number of illegal downloads cropping up has become epic. And not...

Location, Location, Location!
If you are following this blog, particularly recently, you will be able to come with me on my journey into making a feature film.
Other than a great cast and crew, you need to have fabulous locations.
The book I have chosen for my first full length movie is Capital Games.
Through the course of this novel, the characters end up in New Mexico at a ranch retreat for a business training course.
New Mexico.
Ever been there?
Fabulous scenery. Albuquerque, Santa Fe- well, picture perfect.
The producer of this film locked down some spectacular locations indeed. But finding a gay friendly ranch was comical in itself. Let's just say there are areas in New Mexico (cough-Roswell-cough) that perhaps weren't as excited about doing an erotic bromance as we hoped. But we eventually found a spectacular spot, which fit the book perfectly, and the owners were tickled 'pink', and I mean that in both ways, that we were promoting same sex love on their gorgeous ranch.
Having our key location secured, we ran around looking for homes that fit the bill, including the ex-LAPD cop, Steve Miller's bachelor pad, and then of course, Mark and Jack's shared posh mansion.
As the author, who has written the book...walking into some of these homes and having that OMG moment, of 'This is it!' was great fun.
It was even more fun when a young man came in to read for Steve at his audition and I pointed to him and said, "You're Mark! Can you do a British accent?" To my joy, he did one very well indeed.
So? I suppose once you have found locations that are paradise, actors who are so gorgeous you don't want them to stop acting in front of you, and gay friendly environments who actually want you to use their homes and offices for the shoots, the project again begins to move forward.
How much work, money and effort does it go into making a full length feature film? Try doing one yourself and find out.
But hopefully if this continues to march ahead, we shall all see just how much of a success, (or not) this project is.
Be safe out there.
